You should always check your attic, you never know what do you have in there.
This story is true. And happened only a couple of years ago..
In a nice house lived a nice family. A mom, a dad, and their little boy. One night at around midnight, the parents heard a scream. They ran to the little boys room and found him staring horrified up at the ceiling. When the parents looked up they saw nothing but the opening to the attic.
When they asked him what the matter was, he said that something had looked down from the attic at him, smiled, and gone back. The parents scolded the boy for telling such lies and went back to sleep.
The next couple nights were the same, the little boy screamed, the parents came in, scolded, then left. Finally after about a week of it they decided to check the attic to prove to the boy once and for all that there was no "monster" in there. When they went up to check they found a blanket, food, and clothes. Confused they went and asked the boy why the stuff was up there. He replied, "That's where the clown lives. He likes to come down at night and sit with me. I only scream because he says I won't." Horrified the parents called the police and had them come to the house.
A man had been living in the family's attic for over a month, every night coming down and watching the boy sleep. He dressed as a clown to humor himself, and had only been caught by the boy the previous week. He had been traveling through the boys window and up into the attic, where he dwelled unnoticed.
Since the clown was never caught, it's said that he's found a new place to live. So if you ever wake up and hear him laugh, or look up and see a glimpse of him smiling at you before he goes away, you know that you're the new host of an unwanted resident.
